How we promote

Our Advancement Section provides opportunities for professional growth and development via our Leadership Academy, Summer Learning Series, Mentor Program, National Board Mentor Program, among other initiatives.

NCSLMA provides numerous opportunities for our members to earn recognition for their hard work. We celebrate our School Librarian of the Year and School Administrator of the Year. We also provide MLS scholarships and first time conference attendee scholarships. Our Better Together grant is a great opportunity for school librarians who collaborate with a teacher to earn money to make their vision a reality.

Our Technology section has their hands in just about everything NCSLMA. From Website creation, maintenance, and support to social media to providing a place for a school librarian lesson plan and resources repository, technology is here to help everyone.

Looking for ways to get connected? NCSLMA has many opportunities for you to volunteer and use your talents.

Some of the areas that are seeking volunteers are:

  • Regional Committees
  • Intellectual Freedom "First Responders"
  • Advocacy Committee
  • Legislative Committee
  • Conference Committee
