Karen Meier,

NCSLMA began sponsoring HSBOB in 2017-18.  District level competitions will be held each spring with regional competitions following them.  We are looking for volunteers to organize regional competitions.  If you are interested please email Karen Meier.

Thank you for your hard work in preparing for Battle of the Books this year.  We are proud to have such dedicated committee members that were willing to jump in at the last minute and make the competitions happen for students who have worked so diligently this year.  As you have already heard, we have had to cancel all remaining official competitions for the 2019-2020 school year.

Districts are certainly welcome to organize virtual competitions or postpone your competition for when regular instruction resumes on your own.  Please make sure you are not attempting to organize anything while schools are closed. Skype, Google Hangouts, and Zoom are wonderful tools to create your own unofficial competitions. This will still allow students to showcase their knowledge and hard work this school year.

Thank you again for your hard work and dedication to support and promote literacy through Battle of the Books.  We are beyond proud to work alongside so many passionate and committed educators!

With immense thanks for all your tremendous efforts,

 Karen Meier, HBOB Chair

Charlene Waller, MBOB Chair

Stacy Hersey, EBOB Chair

Deb Fidali, Book Programs Chair

The System-Level High School Compliance Form must be completed and signed by each school participating in a district-level HBOB competition this year.  The school media coordinator must join or renew NCSLMA membership before submitting the online form.

We would like to have one coordinator and two representatives from each region, so please consider joining the committee.
