NCSLMA YA Book Award Information
A newly formed committee sprang out of a session at last fall’s conference where about 30 media specialists met to discuss how to implement a selection procession for our middle and high school students, so they might pick their favorite title.
From that group a smaller group met in Raleigh to look over 75 suggestions from most of the people who attended the first gathering. A full day was spent talking and eliminating, talking and deciding until we selected 10 for middle and 9 for high school. We also wanted 2006 or newer titles, as it would be next spring before the students would be voting.
